Soccer Coaching Techniques for Everybody

Soccer coaching can be really difficult because a coach you to have great reserves of patience and at the same time promoting discipline and even inspiration to a younger generation of players. Probably the biggest challenge is to engage and continuously motivate every person in the team into achieving not only the team goals but also their individual objectives.

There countless soccer coaching techniques out there and every one of them has their own style and effectiveness also depending on the type of players that you are handling. There are different soccer coaching techniques of teaching and training as several factors like age groups, level of playing and kind of competitions the team is aspiring to win.

Here are some important aspects of coaching that can help you to boost your team's performance and also improve your coaching skills. These are just some basic guidelines and they work in general for most teams.

The important aspect that you should focus on as a coach is to strive to improve the team's fitness, ball skills, and tactics. Fitness is a very vital element for your team because in order to win a game, the players need to be fit to play the entire game. You should have exercise and practice regiments to build up their stamina and endurance.

The next area you need to focus on is your team's ball skills. You need to be able to train your team's skill in various styles of play so that the players will improve their skill and their thinking as they play. Skill in ball handling is very crucial in the game. The other aspect you should consider very greatly in your coaching is your team tactics. Most typical and effective way is to do formations built on the talents and skills of the players. If you know their abilities you can put these into their best use through certain tactics and formations.

In order to do all this things it requires some basic ideas on how you should handle and deal with your team and the kind of relationship you should develop with them. You need to know your players so that you know what kind of training you should give them. Consider their age as well, as young players have different attitudes and mindsets on the game as they are very focused on the ball than older players with whom you can introduce may tactics-related skills.

Race For The English Premier League

With just five more match weeks to go, the race for the English Premier League has entered its last leg, with one clear leader, in Manchester United.

Match week 33 saw a dramatic change in the hierarchy, with Chelsea leap-frogging over Arsenal into second place. Can either Chelsea or Arsenal upset Manchester United, in a photo-finish?

Currently, United have 70 points, while Chelsea and Arsenal are tied on 64 points each.

To analyze the chances of the three contenders, let's first take a look at their remaining games. Manchester United have three home games and two matches on the road, and so do Chelsea. Arsenal are due to host two games and play three away from the Emirates.

United's three home games are scheduled to be played with Everton, Chelsea and Blackpool, while their away games involve encounters with Arsenal and Blackburn.

The Old Trafford squad have had an excellent unbeaten record at home, this season, and there's no reason to believe they cannot sustain that record before 75,000 screaming supporters, against any opposition. Everton have impressed against the marquee teams, this season, but the best they could hope for, at Old Trafford, would be a draw. I shall therefore assume a worst case scenario for United, in which both Everton and Chelsea manage draws at Old Trafford. I shall further assume that Sir Alex's squad beat Blackpool at home, and manage to salvage a point each from their away games against Arsenal and Blackburn. That would give United 7 additional points, thereby taking them to an aggregate of 77.

How much can Chesea benefit, in such a scenario? Chelsea have home games against West Ham and Newcastle that they can hope to win. The third game to be hosted at Stamford Bridge is against Tottenham, a game that could end in a draw. We have already considered a possible draw in Chesea's away game at Old Trafford. That would leave Ancelotti's men with an away game with Everton, another tough proposition. In a best case scenario, that game would also be drawn, and thus, their five remaining games would net Chelsea 9 points, taking them to an aggregate of 73 points.

Arsenal's fortunes would hinge on their home game against Man United. Assuming that they won the game, that would reduce United's aggregate down to 74, from the 77 points assumed earlier in the article, provided Blackpool also salvaged a draw at Old Trafford. A win in their other home game with Aston Villa and 2 draws and a win in three away games against Bolton, Stoke and Fulham would earn Arsenal 11 additional points, and take them to an aggregate of 75, one point ahead of United, on 74, and 2 points ahead of Chelsea, on 73.So, for Arsenal to win the Premier League, they would have to beat United, and trust Chelsea, Everton and Blackpool to steal a point each at Old Trafford. That said, winning away against any of Bolton, Stoke and Fulham is easier said than done.

Manchester United 2010/2011 Barclaycard English Premier League Season

Manchester United surely over the years has made a great history. There are many players that lie behind the history of Manchester United such as Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best, Sir Alex Ferguson and many more. Best players like David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Roy Keane have entered into the legend of Manchester United. Thinking back at the old days surely brings tears to the eye, I personally missed these days but we have to move on and keep us up to date. Talking about the 2010/2011 season, three main points should be considered.

The first point is about the number of matches of Manchester United matches which went into a draw. There are many matches which could have been won but this was all due to the team lack of scoring techniques. Thanks to Chelsea back moves Manchester united was able to get back into the race. The winning formula of Sir Alex Ferguson seems to be working now as we see them beatings opponents with a couples of goals.

The next aspect is about the finishing moves. Players such as Berbatov which seems not will in the squad is in the race of the barclaycard English Premier League  top scorers. The departure of Ronaldo seems to creating best players which were not very active during all these years. After Rooney, now it seems to be Berbatov turns. But Berbatov is a player which scores at one time then does not score for a long lapse of time. It seems a fact that most of man utd players began to feel tired during the last phase of the title race but this is surely the most important part of all. The most important thing to consider, is that this team remains a great team despite the departure of Ronaldo. Many people judge that this team will have great difficulty to compete with Chelsea, but it proved to be totally wrong as Manchester united is just a step away from another title win.

The last fact is about the mistakes of Manchester united. we are now in the last phase of the title race. But the team seems to be losing points unnecessarily such as the match against Wolves. Not only did it lost three precious points but it also lost the hope of becoming a historic unbeaten team. Then came the lost against Chelsea and then Liverpool. The last part of the season will be very difficult for the team but with Sir Alex Ferguson as manager you could surely expect something great.

Cristiano Ronaldo Biography

Born Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro on 5th February 1984 in San Antonio, Funchal Madeira, he was named after Ronald Reagan, the then President of the United States of America because he was his father's favourite actor.

He is constantly creating history which began in 2003 when he was the first Portuguese player to be signed by Manchester United.

When he left the club to go to Real Madrid he clocked up the highest ever transfer fee when Manchester United received £80 million (94 million euros). In addition he was to be paid 11 million euros per year over the next 6 years, making him the highest paid footballer in the world.
More history was created when he became the first football player to win the FIFA Puskás Award which is an honour given out by FIFA for the greatest goal of the year. His goal was a 40 yard strike against FC Porto during a Champions League match which won him the award while he was still playing for Manchester United.

He started out playing football for an amateur team C.F. Andorinha when he was 8-years-old where his father was kit man, Three years later he signed with his local club Clube Desportivo Nacional. Following a title-winning season he went for a three-day trial with football team Sporting CP which subsequently signed the youngster for an undisclosed sum. At Sporting he became their only team member ever to play for the under 16, 17's, 18's, B team and the first team all in the one season.

At the age of 15 it looked as if his football career might be over before it had begun. Cristiano Ronaldo was found to have a racing heart, the team's staff were told of his condition and his mother gave her authority for him to have a day operation in hospital.

A laser was applied to cauterise the area of the heart causing the problem and he returned to training a few days later.

He was first spotted by Liverpool Manager Gerard Houllier at the age of 16 but the club decided not to take him on as they felt he was too young.

Two years later Sporting beat Manchester United in Lisbon 3-1 and the players were so impressed with the 18-year-old Sporting player they urged Alex Ferguson to sign him.

After the 2002-3 season the he signed a contract with Manchester United for a transfer fee of 15 million euros (£12.24 million). Uneasiness Among The Top Four In The English Premier League

Just this weekend, the top 4 spots of the English Premiler League table experienced a reshuffle. The reason for the reshuffle is not far-fetched. It was as a result of a game, the match between Chelsea and Manchester City. The full time score of the match goes thus, Chelsea 2, Manchester City 0.
With this result, Chelsea is now 3rd on the table and Manchester City 4th. So one can see the uneasiness in the top 4 spots of the EPL. Prior to this Manchester City was leading Chelsea. Man City was occupying the 3rd position while Chelsea FC was occupying the 4th position. They were leading Chelsea with 2 points. But after Sunday's game the table was turned and thus we have the current situation mentioned earlier.

The question is this, what is the implication of this to the top 4 contenders currently occupying the top 4 positions in the league? The answer is simple; the title race is not over yet. No space should be considered secure at least for now. Even the team occupying the number 1 position, Manchester United cannot afford to say that the title is now within their grasp and that no other team can move them out of that number 1 position. They still have a lot of work to do to remain at that most coveted position. Complacency on the part of Man U at this time will cost them this cherished position.

But this disturbance at these cherished places on the table is caused by only 1 club at the moment. The club causing it is Chelsea FC. The impact of this disturbance was increased on Sunday when Chelsea won their home game against Manchester City 2-0. Of course, this was not a good news to Man u fans. This is because their current most dreaded rival is Chelsea. So they know the uphill task they have ahead. Their darling team must overcome this rival if they must be sure of winning the title. Again, those of them that are current with the league know that this their rival still has a game in hand. If they win this game, the 9 point gap between their darling team and their foe will be reduced to 6 which make the matter worse. Here again we see the uneasiness among the top flight.

Actually, the top four positions were never in a peaceful condition this season. They have always been experiencing a change in occupants. Therefore, the winner of this season's English Premier League will be one that will overcome this restiveness with the weapon of consistency.

Premier League Preview: Liverpool Vs Manchester City

Home fans at Anfield will get to celebrate Premier League match time when Manchester City visit Liverpool in match week 32 on Monday, April 11.

The game is the second of a two-legged contest; the first, hosted by Manchester City on August 23, 2010, was won 3-0 by City, who were boosted by a brace of goals by their talismanic striker, Carlos Tevez. Manchester City's Arab owners had invested over a million pounds on summer signings and the result was seen by some as justification. Liverpool's poor showing could be attributed to the board room wrangles the club was going through at the time, and which were eventually put to rest by the transfer of ownership to NESV. Nevertheless, City would feel that their title credentials had been underlined by the result, against a big team.

City went into the lead on 13 minutes when Gareth Barry latched on to a cross from Milner who in turn had been fed a pass by Adam Johnson. Liverpool had their own scoring chances and it was Joe Hart's brilliance between their posts that kept shots from Ngog and Torres out of the net. Another scoring attempt, by Gerrard, went in vain after it struck the post and rebounded into play.
Head to head, Liverpool have established a 3-1 advantage in the last 10 league games played between the sides, with the remaining 6 matches drawn.

In their last 6 league games, Liverpool have registered 2 wins, 3 losses and a draw; Manchester City have won 2 of their last 4, while drawing the remaining one. Of their 15 home games this season, Liverpool have won 9, drawn 2 and lost 4, while Manchester City have won 6 of their 15 games on the road, while losing 5 and drawing the remaining 4.

In match week 31, Liverpool lost 2-1 away at West Brom; Manchester City beat Sunderland 5-0 at home.

Liverpool's fortunes have fluctuated since the arrival of Kenny Dalglish, and the Anfield squad will want to play to potential in a game that could boost them immensely at the fag end of their Premiership campaign. Currently in sixth place, a win against City could propel the Reds to a European qualification. That said, Man City who are 10 points adrift of leaders Man United will want to win most of their remaining seven games to keep their fading title hopes alive. Liverpool will not have it easy, despite home advantage.

Liverpool's starting eleven against West Brom had the following players: Reina, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Kuyt, Spearing, Lucas, Meireles, Carroll and Suarez. Kyrgiakos, Wilson and Cole were used as substitutes.

Manchester City had the following men in their starting eleven against Sunderland: Hart, Boyata, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov, Y Toure, De Jong, Silva, Johnson, Tevez and Balotelli. Wright-Phillips, McGivern and Vieira featured as substitutes.

Soccer Games for Kids

Soccer has currently become such a prominent sport that it is now considered as the most popular and highly celebrated team sport all over the world. Because of this, it is not surprising that more and more children have been influenced by their "idols" in soccer and by their own parents to enter the sport and be good at it.

However, it is not just enough that a kid must have a soccer ball and goal to kick the ball to. Although necessary soccer equipment and accessories are necessary, it is also important to have the right soccer drills and training so that you ca be assured that soccer games for kids will bear fruit in the future.

Soccer drills are considered as the backbone of the many training sessions in soccer. Soccer drills that are not suitable for the type of players that you have will not be at all be useful and effective in teaching them how to play the sport. This is especially true to kids that are exposed to advanced level of training drills at too early of an age, which in the end will cause the loss of interest of the children to the sport. It also has the tendency to decrease the fun and enjoyment that are included in playing the sport and has a way of lowing one's self esteem.

One important reminder that coaches and trainers alike must remember is that children are motivated when they are having fun. When a coach is dealing with a lazy team or players that are very disruptive, the best solution is not always to yell and scream at them so that a form of discipline can be maintained. It has more bad effects for a child than good since it can crush one's self-esteem and confidence in playing the sport. It somehow brings up a stiff and hostile environment where a kid cannot play the sport freely. Remember that fun must not be eliminated from the training. Kids have a very short attention span so it's best to keep them active at all times.

Keep the kids busy and make them feel that their contribution to the team is highly valued. Disruptive kids will behave better if they are asked to do a task and lazy kids will perform better when they are having fun. In this way, they get to improve and still enjoy the sport.

Everything you ought to know about soccer can be found in this little community. If you're looking for soccer tips,  then you've come to the right place.

Clinical Red Devils Shoot Down Arsenal to Set Up a Wembley Manchester Derby

'Just a s*** Barcelona' was the chant directed at the Gunners over the weekend as Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United team produced an organised and clinical display of football to dump Arsenal out of the F.A Cup.

The trend of the match was set early on as Arsene Wenger's men dominated the midfield as an injury-hit Red Devils' side absorbed the pressure and looked to hit on the counter attack. For all their beautiful football, Arsenal's constant string of short passes once again failed to penetrate the two banks of five and four red shirtsthat face them. Ferguson's tactics worked a treat as United twice scored two goals on the break, with Manuel Almunia and his flat-footed defence unable to prevent both Fabio Da Silva and Wayne Rooney from converting rebounds. United were very energetic and direct, whereas their counterparts were anchored by the lazy combination of Abou Diaby and Denilson, who both seemed content to casually jog around the pitch and slow the play down when a bit of urgency was needed.

When Arsenal did manage to pierce the rearguard, led superbly by the brilliant Nemanja Vidic and the improving Chris Smalling, the yellow shirts of Arsenal found Edwin van der Sar in outstanding form. I'm sure the United manager will do his very best to convince the veteran goalkeeper, who still seems to be getting more dependable and agile with age, not to retire at the end of the season.
For the Gunners faithful, Johan Djourou's dislocated shoulder injury that will rule him out for the rest of the season will hurt as much as losing the game itself. The Swiss international has been a rock in a suspect defence and the Professor must have felt like banging his head against those Nike CTR billboards that surround the Old Trafford turf when he saw his best centre-half hauled off on a stretcher. Not even the return of Aaron Ramsey could lift the doom and gloom feeling that surrounds the Emirates at the moment.

Arsene Wenger will obviously stick to his philosophy of attractive football that brought him glory in the past, but the shaky core of his team needs to be addressed, along with the lack of leadership that was all to apparent on Saturday. Doubts have been placed upon the players commitment and character these past couple of weeks, these questions have to be answered quickly.

Jens Lehmann is open to a return to his former club, but is an extra crazy man needed when times call for calm. Minus a captain and a rookie keeper, the Gunners have again fallen short when it has mattered most. The Premier League trophy is now their sole target, a piece of lent that needs to head back to North London.

Rewind a couple of weeks and Equipio's resident Gooner was slightly optimistic about the possibility of a quadruple. However, come what may at the end of the season, 'In Arsene We Trust!'
